On the Astro at Columba\u2019s college Spartak won a worthwhile contest easily in the end. A fine display by the Firhouse keeper, allied to the small goals used, kept the scoreline to reaspectable proportions.<\/p>\n
Spartak were considerably understrength with a few players absent without leave.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Will O\u2019Connell dominated the midfield exchanges, aided and abetted by Stuart Love, and\u00a0with Glen Burke lively in attack, Spartak were always a threat. Gintaras Cibirka and Graham\u00a0Breen were also focal points of general play.<\/p>\n
Jason Northey, as emergency full back in Anto\u2019s absence, made a great early clearance in what proved to be Firhouse\u2019s best chance, and the other back four\u00a0defenders of Grace, Browne and Mahon were solid after the shaky opening.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The half time introduction of Mick Greene proved decisive and second half goals by Burke, Love and O\u2019Connell sealed the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n
