This game was bookended by two fine strikes by Steve Grier and Steve Walsh. Grier\u2019s effort from 30 yards went in via a post; Walsh\u2019s expert free kick nestled in the top corner. <\/p>\n
Unfortunately the Sky Blues did not pay sufficient attention to the darker defensive arts in this much delayed end of season fixture. Marlay\u2019s strange cancellation policies meant the last few games were stretched over a long number of weeks and as a result quite a few players were missing for various reasons \u2013 injuries, exams, fatigue etc.<\/p>\n
Its probably best to draw a veil over the defensive frailties which allowed Booth Road to fully capitalise on their chances. A lack of pace in the Spartak back four proved damaging.<\/p>\n
Spartak took the lead, then came back from 1-2 down to lead 3-2 courtesy of two neatly taken Conor Maguire goals. Meantime Keith Kelly\u2019s missed a spot kick, awarded after a foul on Graham McEnroe. Keith\u2019s effort thudded against the post.<\/p>\n
