Spartak Dynamo 3 Peamount 1
An early second half flurry of activity saw three goals in a ten minute spell which turned the match.
Spartak started the game well, but were thwarted when Chris Hogan and Niall Hanratty both struck the woodwork with good efforts. Adam Doran then got to the backline to beat the offside trap and his cross was not converted , despite the home side having men over in the box. Mike Hull departed with a hamstring strain and Glen Burke came on to add extra life to the attack. The quality of crosses and final pass was not up to standard despite the teritorial superiority and, as often happens, the visitors scored with their first real attack when an ill advised Spartak offside trap was sprung by a deep runner who went on to finish.
A somewhat more composed Spartak began the second half and a fortuitous goal provided an equaliser. A free kick from deep inside the Spartak half was driven upfield by Doran and landed invitingly for Hanratty, all alone and 8 yards out. However he failed to make contact and the keeper allowed the ball to drift inside the far post. A good cross by Hanratty resulted in a goalbound shot by Burke being handled on the line – red card and penalty against the visitors number 9! Burke’s effort was not well placed and the keeper blocked, however he tucked away the rebound. A third goal followed when Mouhad and Neill Bolger combined for Burke to finish. Mohad, on as sub , helped keep the flow of passes moving as Spartak looked to build on the lead.
Spartak however seemed content and were fortunate when a Peamount header when left unattended was too close to Costello.

It’s a team game pal I went out there and tired down the opposition so that Aggie could finish them off with his blistering pace!

You just wait shane, age will catch you up and when you can’t run around like a nutter for 90mins where will you be then??? I’ll tell you, on the sideline with me and Neil wondering where all that pace and stamnina went, hiding your smoke from Paul in the vain hope you will get 10 minutes of action. At this point Neil and I will laugh heartily and mosey on up to the pub to work our figures in time for the start of the over 35’s season.
Jesus Neil, you must have done some running if Aggie was finshing them off with his blistering pace!!!!
